About

THE SPECIAL FORCES CLUB BENEVOLENT FUND is a UK registered charity that provides assistance to former members of the UK and allied Special Forces and Special Intelligence community and/or their dependents who have fallen on hard times, ill health or bereavement.

The SFC Benevolent Fund’s work is funded solely by public donation.  Its current and recent cases include individuals in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, France and Greece that needed either a helping hand to rebuild their lives after suffering ill-health, bad fortune or PTSD; or, having served their country whilst in their prime now find themselves needing help, care and support in their twilight years.

Those that we help are often too proud to ask for support, and it is thanks to the Special Forces and Special Intelligence communities that we learn of such cases. We take great pride in providing timely help in complete confidence and acting with speed to ensure a bad situation does not become worse.

Who we help

Our support covers former members of the British and allied Special Forces and Special Intelligence community. We know and understand the extreme demands of having served in the Special Forces and the difficulties such service can inflict in later life. Whether in the UK or overseas, and in times of need, we come to the assistance of those who gave so much in the service of their respective countries.

The challenges faced are often complex and hidden; loneliness, depression and PTSD can have a devastating effect and are often exacerbated by bereavement and old age. 

SFCBF acts quickly to help, we make sure they know SFCBF is there for them when they most need help.

How we help

THE SPECIAL FORCES CLUB BENEVOLENT FUND helps our community in a number of ways, though our focus is on providing direct financial support whether this be long term or for shorter periods of need. The Fund has helped in cases of support for PTSD, cancer management, relationship breakdowns, debt and care needs. 

SFCBF is committed to bringing rapid help to brave men and women who used to do so much to help others. 

What makes us unique?

  • We’ve been supporting the Special Forces community for more than 75 years. We have supported former SOE, SAS, SBS, and SRR, and former Special Intelligence individuals and their families in the UK and worldwide. 

  • The needs of former Special Forces veterans are becoming more diverse as the world changes and longevity increases. So we work hard to make sure our services are quick and flexible.

  • In active service operational timing is critical. The same is true for supporting veterans. The SFCBF responds quickly to minimize stress and provide reassurance in times of struggle.

  • SFCBF necessarily remains discreet. We liaise with specialist organisations to help us identify those needing help and to ensure those that need help get it quickly.

HOW WE FUND OUR WORK

Our charitable work is financed by contributions from fellow members of the Special Forces community and generous donations from members of the public.

Further, members of our community participate in “high challenge” events to raise visibility and donations to our fund.
